We distribute Linux binaries as AppImage files, which are self-contained runnable programs that require no installation. Currently only Intel/AMD 64-bit CPUs are supported.
After downloading the AppImage file, move it to any convenient place in your Home folder, and then make it executable by following these steps:
On a GNOME desktop environment (Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS):
On KDE (Kubuntu, OpenSUSE):
On XFCE (Xubuntu), LXDE (Lubuntu), or any environment where you simply prefer to use the command-line:
Launch terminal, enter the folder where you saved the AppImage, and enter the following command:
chmod a+x peerio-2-linux-x86_64.AppImage
After making the AppImage executable, double-click it to launch. You’ll be asked if you want it to integrate the application with your desktop environment (Peerio will be added to the applications list, so that you could easily start it). Click Yes. The program will start.
This AppImage will be periodically updated when we release new versions, so you don’t need to download them manually.
Please see our page on verifying downloads.
